I started in ecommerce in 1998. Not because it was a trend. Because I saw something nobody around me was paying attention to yet. The internet was going to change how businesses sold, and I wanted to understand it from the inside before everyone else did.

I spent the next 14 years building my own ecommerce businesses from scratch. Medical products. Multiple categories. Multiple markets. At our peak we had 50 to 100 people across every department — marketing, operations, merchandising, logistics, customer service, finance. I was not managing one channel or one function. I was running the whole machine.

And that is where I learned the thing that became the foundation of everything I do today.

The brands that scaled cleanly were not the ones with the biggest budgets or the most aggressive targets. They were the ones where every part of the business was designed to work together. When that alignment existed growth compounded. When it did not, growth created chaos, compressed margins, and burned teams.

Most ecommerce businesses I encountered were building the second kind of business without realizing it.

After 14 years as an operator I moved into consulting and fractional leadership. I worked with hundreds of brands across every size and category. What I kept seeing was consistent. The Beginning

Started building websites and experimenting with early ecommerce tools. Launched one of the region’s first ecommerce training programs. Taught web development, SEO, and digital commerce to the first wave of digital professionals.

2000

Pioneering Education

Established one of the region’s earliest website training programs. Taught complete web development, SEO, and server-side integration. Helped shape the first wave of digital professionals

2003

First E-commerce Venture

Launched a US based medical ecommerce business from scratch with zero outside investment. Applied SEO, UX, and conversion strategy to scale from nothing. Expanded onto Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and Sears.

2005

Expanding into Consulting

Started advising businesses on website development, SEO, paid advertising, and ecommerce structure. Built early credibility as someone who had operated a real business, not just studied them.

2012

Going Deep

Shifted to full time professional consulting. Specialized in conversion rate optimization, UX, and integrated ecommerce growth strategy. Began working with larger brands on more complex structural challenges.

2015

Scale and Systems

Expanded into full scale consulting focused on business growth architecture. Developed the first versions of the frameworks that would eventually become the Ecom Codex. Began coaching and mentoring founders and ecommerce professionals.
